Title: Teacher's profile: Between reflexivity and narration. A research itinerary with distance training teachers

Abstract: Research on cognition, meta cognitive skills and on how the brain works do not cease to arouse great interest among the scientific community of educational disciplines, especially in relation to the need to integrate, at any educational or training level, the essential component of reflexivity about themselves and about the way to cope with knowledge. Brain-based approaches - with regard to the Brain-gym - and storytelling activities – in particular, Digital Storytelling - brought up the axes of the research here described and conducted with 268 students attending, remotely, the modules of Special teaching: metacognitive and cooperative approach and Special teaching and learning for sensory disabilities within the specialization course for support teachers working in infant schools and primary schools, run by the University of Palermo, in the academic year 2019 -2020. Through the research process we wanted to verify the validity of the Brain-based model in order to enhance the teachers' reflective competence, nar-rative competence and critical re-elaboration all supported by the use of ICT.

Abstract: Le ricerche sulla cognizione, sulla competenza metacognitiva e sul funzionamento del cervello non smettono di destare vivo interesse presso la comunità scientifica delle discipline educative specie in relazione alla necessità di integrare, in qualsiasi percorso didattico e/o formativo, l'irrinunciabile componente della riflessività su se stessi e sul proprio modus di relazione con la conoscenza. Gli approcci di tipo brain-based -"con riguardo alla tecnica del Brain-gym - e l'attività di narrazione" declinata secondo la tipologia del Digital Storytel-ling "costituiscono gli assi portati della ricerca qui descritta, condotta con 268 corsisti frequentanti, in modalità a distanza, i moduli di Didattica speciale: approccio metacognitivo e cooperativo e Didattica speciale e apprendimento per le disabilità sensoriali all'interno del corso di specializzazione per le attività di sostegno della scuola dell'infanzia e di scuola primaria dell'Università di Palermo, nell'a.a. 2019 -2020. Attraverso il processo di ricerca si è ̈ voluto verificare la validità del modello Brain-based allo scopo di potenziare nei corsisti la competenza riflessiva, la competenza narrativa e la rielaborazione cri-tica supportate dall'utilizzo delle TIC.
